Film Festival of Faculty of Informatics, founded in 2001, is a festival where students present their short films. It is held every year in May at the Faculty of informatics at Masaryk University in Brno. Films of various genres are publicly presented created by students with assistance of Laboratory of Electronic and Multimedia Application (LEMMA). Each year, 800–1000 spectators come to see new student projects. Initially, the festival was supervised by the dean of Faculty of Informatics and since 2011 by the mayor of Brno. == Organization of Festival ==
A short film less than eight minutes long can take part in the festival. Also, they need to be created in last three years by students of Masaryk University, mostly they are made in last academic year in courses ''Základy filmové řeči'' and ''Produkce audiovyzuálního díla'' lectured by Petr Sojka, Robert Král and Radovan Hakl.〔(Máte v šuplíku krátký film? Přihlaste ho na festival )〕 In this courses students can learn all basic knowledge, starting with ideas and story for the film, creating screenplays, filming, production and postproduction. They usually handle acting, sounds, costumes and masking. In one year, usually around twenty films are presented. Best of them are rewarded in two categories: by expert jury and by spectators. Winers also get the Filmobolos. The festival is organized by students themselves. Every year it has new a motto and theme presented in posters, pamphlets and DVDs. Students need to find sponsors and handle public relations, create trailer and propagation materials, web and presentation of films.
